Materials: When it comes to making porcelain there are many different materials that can be used to create a certain types. The information included in the three different sections are focused on just a few of these types of materials.
Firing: The focus of this part of the website is on methods used within kilns using fire, bricks, and are a part of a semi-permanent structure. There are many other types of kilns that have been invented to create porcelain, such as, pit firing or loose- brick kilns.
Designs: This section of the site is more focused on the types of designs that are found within Truman State University’s Special Collections and Museum Department. There are many different ways to design Chinese export porcelain that are not listed in this section.
